Birthday Bracelet

Phoenix was going to a friend's 19th Birthday held at an Inner City Hotel, it's seems to be the "thing to do" amongst our young adults these days. He wanted to take something special without breaking the bank. I suggested making a one of a kind bracelet for her - to which he screwed up his nose....typical. I myself think the finished results were bang on as they were in the colours she likes and judging from what he said when we picked him up she really did like it and wait for it...he also thanked me too...lol. So for me that's a job well done.

Colour Theme: Black, soft pinks and blues
(I added whites and browns to give it more depth and bulk)

Materials used:
Silver chain cut measure to fit
Silver closure and headpins (I used mainly short head pins)
Faux pandora charms ( I didn't have a silver ring large enough to go around it so i used a small chain and then a ring to close it and then attached it)
Buttons
Glass beads
Seed beads
Silver charms
Coloured heart was a mobile phone dangle charm.

Crochet Leg warmers

I had made several attempts to make these legwarmers for Little Miss. A, I had checked out the web, youtube for video instructions- arghhh!!! There were heaps of pictures but some of the instructions didn't suit, so I made up my own

What I ended up doing was breaking the patterned down into 2 parts - crochet ribbing at either end and then 7 rows of crocheting in the middle. I don't know my stitch names very well otherwise I would have added them in.

And no project would be complete without a flower and button.

July Designs

All supplies for these layouts were supplied by Caz Dezign Ltd

I love love love using templates especially when it comes to patterned paper. I do find patterned paper very intimidating so by using a template it cuts down the " in your face" element.

If you look at my other layouts from camp namely "Girls just wanna have fun", this is the right hand side of that double layout.

July Scrapbook Retreat - my space

At every Scrapbooking Retreat I take photos of my space. I try and make it a mini version of my craft space at home. and over the years I've reduced the amount of "stuff" I take with me.

This is a full view of my scrapbook space

I like this picture as you can see the trees in the background - what a view

On the right side of my desk I put all of my tools, adhesives, home made glimmer spray. Just to the right I stored my buttons which are sorted by colour.

This is my entertainment centre/pc suite. I can print of journalling or photo's or listen to my favourite music or watch a movie etc.

These are how I store my alphabets/rubons/long sticker sets. I found these file folders at my local Variety shop for $7.00 each. Alas there are no more.

And finally my snack centre -so I can have a nibble without getting up from my desk (not always a good thing...lol ) and just behind it is my extra paper and cardstock centre(*)

Important Supplies
* A desk lamp
* Large craft mat - mine is A1 in size, A2 works just as well
* portable shelving to stores supplies - means you have a second level to store supplies on.
* power boards and extension cables
* Rubbish bins - one for paper scraps and one for other
(in between camps I store most of these things in my black carry case (*))

Extra personal items
* my own drinking glass
* photos of my family
* foot stool
* music - mp3 player and music cds

A Title with a difference

If you run out of room to finish your title, you could do what I did here and layer the last word on top of the main word in your title

Better Scrapbooking - Weekend Workshop

I'm trying to use more of what I have in my stash instead of going out and buying new paper and using that first. In the first two layouts I've used patterned paper I've had for quite sometime, its' a good feeling to know that my stash is being used up; be it slowly...lol.

Foam Stamp and Ribbon embellishment

Foam Stamp - I used pine one ink to ink the stamp and then stamped the image on the right hand edge of my layout. After stamping it, it just didn't seem to pop so I added some "Glossy Accents" (there are similar products on the market that do the same job).

Ribbon embellishment - I saw this technique on other layouts and really liked it. What I also did was add a charm with a jump ring through the knot.

Adorable

Products used:
Bazzill Basics - Intense Kiwi
Scrapbook walls - Cabana Stripe (been in my stash for sometime)
Pebbles inc. - Orange Ribbon
Bella - Chipboard title
Pine cone ink - around the edges of the green top note shape and patterned paper. Used to ink the foam stamp.
Prima flower foam stamp - supplied by Better Scrapbooking Ltd (see below)
